The Freckles are Out!
I enjoyed soaking up some vitamin D this weekend! Despite the blaring heat, I decided to start my weekend off with a bang of a bike ride from North Seattle to Mercer Island, down to Seward Park and back up to North Seattle again. It was a beautiful ride, if not a bit on the warm side. Even with my water pack filled with ice and two polar bottles, all I could think of on the way back was how wonderfully cold water from a garden hose would feel pouring over my head. I can’t remember another time that standing under a garden hose felt so good!
Saturday’s ride was much cooler, with temps in the mid 80s and a nice breeze. We decided the weather was perfect for a mellow ride along the Burke Gilman trail.
Sunday rounded out the weekend with a hike around Discovery Park. I love that a place like Discovery Park is so close to my house. Within minutes, I don’t feel like I am in a city at all.
Summer may have taken it’s time to come to the Pacific Northwest, but that certainly helps us appreciate it that much more!
