Mini Tour de Seattle
With the increasing appearance of clear-ish, sunny-ish skies, my friend Nicole and I have dusted off our bikes and started riding on a semi- regular schedule again. We recently headed out on a little tour of our city.
Starting at Gas Works park, we rode west to the beach in Ballard, south to the ferry terminals, took a quick stop at Pikes to snarf some pork buns (om, nom nom), and then back north to Magnolia before heading back to Gas Works to call it a day.
It’s interesting – we tend to get this idea in our heads that in order to get in a “good” ride, we have to map out an intricate trip and cover great distances, when in fact, there are so many lovely bike lanes and trails within the city, that you can log a pretty decent ride without actually going very far. It was so beautiful out, if not a bit on the windy side (especially by the beach) and I cannot wait to do it again. I am so lucky to have a friend who is not only a wonderful woman, but is the perfect riding partner!
